Please note, this blog is a work in progress that began in late December 2016. Rather than a series of monotonous “I did this today” type posts, I’m going to try something different. All sections of the machineĀ are in the midst of an overhaul, and so the details of that work can be found in the section listing at the very top of the page or at the left hand side.
On the main page, in addition to this post, is a Running Log that contains a quick summary of the work as it progresses.
As I work through the challenges, this site will evolve, new pages may be added, and new photos attached to the gallery. So, let’s give it a shot!
Cory, The LGP-30 was the first machine I ever used. Like you, I brought one back to life but it was in 1967. I can probably tell you a number of things about it, like using paper tape to clean the flexowriter contacts. Works like a charm. I have m/c readable schematics for it. As well, I have the ACT V compiler, which was a wonderful rework of the original ACT III compiler by Graeme Scott, works about 3 times faster. Pls let me know if you have any interest in these. You should also look around for the high speed paper tape reader and punch.
